Oyster Island - 2003

 

Two lights, est. August 1st 1837 forming leading lights from Sligo Bay into the Channel to Sligo Port.    Replaced by a sectored temporary light February 15th 1891.    Discontinued towers taken down 1893.   North tower was rebuilt and became a rear leading light with the Metal Man (No.36 in the series) 1932.  Light converted from acetylene to propane October 9th, 1979.
