“BENEATH the SUN & the STARS” MAY 26 – JUNE 27, 2006
Pierre Bonnard once stated, “Art will never be able to exist without nature”. This unique dependency which Bonnard identifies can be seen in the beautifully pleasant landscapes and resplendent seascapes of Irish based contemporary artist, Ursula Boylan O’Gara. Ms. O’Gara’s enchanting scenes reflect the leisurely time and fleeting perspective great Impressionist artists captured in European landscapes. Her kinship and affinity to superbly remote oases, residing in the Irish countryside are manifested in all of her artwork. |

One can see that she is greatly influenced by her Irish heritage, through her utilization of color, form and subject matter. Ms. O’Gara’s landscapes instill within the viewer a peacefulness which though many landscape paintings appear to have an aura of serenity, her paintings move beyond the surface of peacefulness and instills tranquility within our very soul. A genuine love for the countryside with its grand mountains and serene oceans encourages the viewer to escape to such memorable vistas. It is with a native and keen eye that Ms. O’Gara successfully creates landscapes which speak pleasant tones and melodies to the peaceful viewer. An internationally acclaimed artist, Ms. Ursula Boylan O’Gara has exhibited in Ireland and New York. In 2002, Ms. O’Gara became a State Registered Artist- a consideration given by the Irish Government to artists who exhibit creative and original work, whereby, the artist submits work of cultural and artistic merit and is awarded Artists Exemption. |
